Jacksonville, NC (February 9, 2024) The Major League Development Association (MLDA) is on the lookout for a dedicated individual to fill the role of Coastal Area Soccer Association Recreational Director. Tasked with overseeing the planning, development, and implementation of entry-level and intermediate soccer programs, this position is pivotal in shaping the future of youth sports within our MLDA brands, which serve over 1,000 young athletes.

Position Summary: The Coastal Area Soccer Association Sports Director will lead the development of our recreational soccer program. The role demands a passion for soccer, excellent leadership skills, and a commitment to providing a safe and positive environment for young athletes to thrive.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Managing day-to-day execution of soccer programs, catering to various skill levels and age groups.
  • Leading and mentoring a team of staff, interns, and volunteers to ensure program objectives are met.
  • Developing and implementing marketing strategies to promote programs and drive participation.
  • Generating and executing sales pipelines for additional programs and opportunities.
  • Innovating curriculum development to enhance program quality and effectiveness.
  • Collaborating with other MLDA member clubs to expand recreational and supplemental programs.

Experience and Attributes: The ideal candidate will possess:

  • A USSF C License or equivalent certification.
  • Minimum of 5 years of professional experience in education, coaching, and soccer.
  • Bachelor’s degree in sports management or related field.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Adobe programs.
  • Strong organizational and communication skills.
  • Flexibility and willingness to work evenings and weekends as necessary.
